The importance of photographs....

Not to get nostalgic or anything but I had an experience this weekend that really reminded me of why we do what we do as wedding photographers. We recently moved our office from the ground floor of our home to the finished portion of our basement. In doing so we had more room in the new office so I decided to dig out one of the old computer towers we used to have and hook it up to see what was lingering on the hard drive. I was surprised to see a massive collection of photographs from Nichole's pregnancy, the birth of our child, and the very early months of my sons life. Now my son was born in August of 2006, so it really wasn't that long ago, but I was shocked at how much I had already forgotten from those first three or four months of his life. Nonetheless it really got me thinking about what it is we do as photographers for each and every client...and not to sound corny or cliche....but we really do capture those fleeting memories that only fade with time. I hope that in twenty or thirty years from now our clients can look back at their wedding photographs and instantly be transported back to their wedding day, and that is our goal, to make memorable and timeless memories for each and every one of our awesome clients.
